World Giraffe Week 6/17/19- 6/21/19
World Giraffe Day is June 21st, but we're celebrating all week long!
...Because one day for giraffe is not enough!
Have you ever wanted to get up close and personal with a friendly giraffe?
This week (Monday, June 17- Friday, June 21) visit the Zoo and take a behind-the-scenes tour for only $25. Includes personal tour of the giraffe house and a meet and greet with our resident herd of reticulated giraffe.
Tour participants will journey into the keeper access area and spend time visiting and feeding the giraffe. Your guide will explain what makes this threatened species so unique, how they are managed and cared for at the Zoo and their status in the wild.
Choose your tour time: 10:30 am, 1:30 pm or 3:30 pm, daily.
Tour is approximately 20 minutes and offers an exclusive behind the scenes tour and up-close encounter with the giraffes.
*Tour not suitable for children under 6. Those under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
**Portion of all sales this week will be donated to the Giraffe Conservation Foundation.

Giraffe are moving closer to extinction, giraffe numbers in Africa have dropped by a staggering 30% over the last 30 years. The Gulf Breeze Zoo is dedicated to these gentle giants in partnership with the Giraffe Conservation Foundation.
This year we're raising funds to support a ground breaking satellite tracking program. This is the largest giraffe GPS tracking program ever conducted in Africa. The goal is to outfit 250 wild giraffe with small, specially designed trackers to find answers on habitat needs and discover what it will take to save them. The project is ambitious and will require global assistance and over 1 million dollars to complete.

Enrichment Day: 7/15/19
Join us for a full day of fun enrichment demos! Watch as animals sniff, poke, pounce and chow down on some exciting items. Enrichment encompasses a variety of items or activities designed to encourage natural behaviors animals would experience in the wild. Some objects have hidden food, sounds or scents that help animals explore with natural instincts.
Wild Shots Photo Contest: 7/1/19 - 8/31/19
Gulf Breeze Zoo is calling shutterbugs of all ages to enter their photos in 2019 Wild Shots Photo Contest. Snap funny family pictures or the perfect animal poses. Scenery, silly faces and animal antics are encouraged. Contest ends August 31, 2019.
Starting July 1, you can submit up to 5 photos online, based on category. Categories include:
Youth: Photos taken and submitted by any person 2 - 12 years of age.
Adult: Photos taken and submitted by any person 13 years old and older.
Cell Phone: Photos taken and submitted by a person of any age, taken with a cellular device.
