1. Camel Encounter
Not your average baby bottle! For the first time ever, you can now go behind-the-scenes and meet our new baby Camel, Layla, in person! Accompany Zoo staff during a bottle feeding and experience what it takes to care for these amazing animals. Learn about the incredible adaptions of a Camel and what conservation efforts the Gulf Breeze Zoo is participating in to save other Saharan residents in the wild. A portion of all encounter proceeds will go to support conservation.
Please note: there is a daily max capacity of 4 participants per day for Camel encounters. Reservation strongly recommended.
*Age requirements: 8 years old and up, a paying adult must accompany anyone under the age of 12.
Camel Encounter Times - 11 am and 2 pm daily, weather permitting.
Cost: $60 per session includes up to 2 participants.
2. Hippo Encounter
It's official; the wait is finally over! Now is your chance to go behind-the-scenes at the new Kiboko River Station at the Gulf Breeze Zoo. Enjoy exclusive access to our Hippo habitat, where our dedicated animal care specialists will introduce guests to our two Nile hippos, the world's third-largest land mammal, and share specifics about their daily routines, care, training, unique behaviors, and diets. Guests will enjoy feeding the hippos under the watchful eye of our animal care specialist while learning about active conservation efforts in the wild to protect them. Tickets are available online and in the gift shop.
Please note: there is a daily max capacity for the Kiboko River Station Hippo Encounter, resulting in limited availability. The minimum age is eight (8), and a paying adult must accompany anyone under the age of 12. Encounters occur twice a day at scheduled times. Reservation strongly recommended.
Hippo Encounter Times - 11:30 am and 3:30 pm daily, weather permitting.
Cost: $30 per person
WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
Guests must be at least 8 years old to participate.
Participates under the age of 12 years old must be accompanied by a paying adult.
Allergy caution: This experience is outdoors, you may be exposed to dust, hay, biting and stinging insects.

Comfortable closed-toe shoes are strongly recommended.
This is experience is outdoors, please plan ahead for the weather and dress accordingly.
Outdoor activities are conducted rain or shine, with the exception of lightning or severe weather.

Check-in 10 minutes prior to scheduled encounter time.
The encounter begins promptly at the assigned time. Late arrivals will not be permitted to join the experience.
Duration and availability are subject to change without notice.
Cancellations must be made 7 days in advance.
Payments will be forfeited if you fail to show.
