What forms of payment does the zoo take?

All forms of credit, debit cards, and cash. We do not accept personal checks.

Are pets allowed?

No. We do not allow pets in the zoo or on the property. Service dogs are permitted with restrictions. This is for the safety of our animal collection.

Can you smoke inside the zoo?

Smoking or vaping is not permitted on zoo grounds. The designated smoking area for visitors is in the main zoo parking lot.

Do you have wheelchairs, strollers, or wagons for rent?

We have wagons and wheelchairs available for a nominal fee. We do not have strollers, but guests are always welcome to bring their own strollers, wagons, or wheelchairs. Our wagons can accommodate two children and a backpack or diaper bag. See our rentals page for prices.

Does the train ride take you through the entire zoo?

No. The zoo is a 50-acre facility, and the first 20 acres must be walked to be enjoyed. The train ride boards from the train depot and will take you on a guided tour through the 30-acre free roaming preserve.

Can I ride the train if I have a stroller, wheelchair, or wagon?

The train is wheelchair-accessible but strollers and wagons must be parked in the designated areas upon loading the train.

How often do the train rides run?

The train runs every hour on the hour beginning at 10:00 a.m. (The last train runs at 4:00 p.m.). On days with high-volume attendance, the train runs continuously beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Can I return to the zoo once I have purchased my ticket?

Yes, your ticket is good for the entire day. Guests who would like to leave zoo grounds and return the same day must keep their receipt. Each receipt has an individual barcode on it that you will need to provide for re-entry.

Are you open on Sundays?

Yes! The zoo is open 363 days a year! We are closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. See our full schedule on the Tickets and Hours page.

Can we feed the animals?

Yes! Cups of animal feed are available at the ticketing counters for a nominal fee. You can feed the animals in the designated feeding areas including goats, sheep, camels, waterfowl, turtles, and giraffes.

Does the animal feed contain peanuts?

No, the animal feed does not contain peanuts but is manufactured in an agricultural facility that may process peanuts or peanut shells.

Do you offer military rates?

Yes, discounted rates are available for members of all branches of the military with a valid military ID.

Do you offer group rates?

Discounted rates are available for groups of 15 or more people. Please see Group Rates for more information.

How can we book our school group or birthday party?

School groups and birthday parties are booked 4-6 weeks in advance through our sales department with a $50 non-refundable deposit due at the time of booking by MasterCard or Visa. Please email admin@gulfbreezezoo.org or call (866) 620-1825 ext. 1105

Will I see animals if I come to the zoo and it rains? Do the animals come out in the rain?

The animals live outside year-round, rain or shine. While we cannot guarantee specific animals will be visible, many of our animals prefer the cooler weather during the rain. If the weather is extreme many will seek shelter or their indoor areas and appear to be off exhibit.

Do you offer rain refunds?

No. The Gulf Breeze Zoo does not offer refunds for rainy days. We recommend that guests dress for outdoor weather and check the extended forecast prior to visiting.

Will the train still run if it rains?

Yes, but for the safety of our guests and employees, the train will be delayed if there is lightning.

Is there a restaurant or place to eat lunch at the zoo?

Yes! The cafe offers lunch fare such as hamburgers, hotdogs, pizzas, chicken tenders and French fries. Kids’ meals are available. See dining options for more information and menu items.

Can we bring our own picnic into the zoo?

No. Outside food and beverages are not permitted inside the zoo. For your convenience, we have a large covered picnic pavilion outside of the zoo grounds that guests are encouraged to enjoy prior to entering the zoo.

Can we bring a grill to use in your outdoor picnic pavilion?

No. Grills are not allowed in our picnic pavilion area, but you may bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the pavilion.

Do you take in injured or orphaned wildlife?

No, the Gulf Breeze Zoo cannot accept injured or orphaned animals. If you see an injured or orphaned animal, please call the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission at (850) 488-4676.
