The Gulf Breeze Zoo is a 50-acre facility located in the beautiful Florida panhandle. The Zoo is rapidly growing and searching for motivated individuals to join our team. The Zoo maintains a diverse collection of over 900 animals, including great apes, carnivores, primates, birds, reptiles, and a large petting/farm area. The zoo also has a restaurant, mining sluice, safari line train, and a large gift shop.

Commissary Keeper

The Gulf Breeze Zoo seeks an energetic, motivated individual to join our animal care team. The position will be responsible for managing the commissary and aiding in caring for the farm area. Please apply if you are an energetic and hardworking individual who shares a passion for animal care. The commissary provides animal diets for all the animals that call Gulf Breeze Zoo home. This position is responsible for maintaining the commissary and preparing all diets. This position will also aid in caring for the farm area, which houses goats, sheep, chickens, and waterfowl. Additional Responsibilities:
  • Diet preparation for the all-park animals
  • Maintaining USDA standards for an animal commissary.
  • Aiding in the cleaning of the farm area when necessary

  • Keeping an inventory of supplies. i.e. food, bowls, tools, etc

Farm / Commissary Keeper

The Gulf Breeze Zoo seeks an energetic, motivated individual to join our animal care team. This position is responsible for the farm collection, which includes but is not limited to goats, sheep, chickens, various waterfowl, and flamingos. This person will also be trained in the zoo commissary, preparing diets for the entire zoo collection while maintaining high standards of cleanliness as per USDA standards. Additional Responsibilities:
  • Perform the general daily care of the animals in assigned exhibit and holding areas.
  • Maintains exhibits and holding areas in a clean and presentable condition at all times.
  • Carefully observes the animal collection for signs of illness or injury and reports problems to the department Supervisor.
  • Prepares food in accordance with dietary requirements and restrictions.
  • Provides enrichment as agreed to by department management.

Food and Beverage Manager

The Food and Beverage Manager is a customer-oriented position responsible for managing the overall F&B operations to achieve customer satisfaction, quality of food and beverage service, compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as federal, state, and local regulations while meeting/exceeding financial goals for the F&B Operations. The Gulf Breeze Zoo has one dine-in restaurant on-site and anticipates additional F&B satellites soon. This person will report directly to the Guest Services Manager and be responsible for (but not limited to) overseeing day-to-day food and beverage operations, inventory and ordering, quality and waste control, supervising, leading, and training food and beverage staff members.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Provides leadership and direction to team members.
  • Maintains high standards of guest services throughout all operations.
  • Operates cash registers and assists with front and back-of-house operations.
  • Enforces daily/weekly/monthly cleaning schedules.
  • Aides in keeping SOPs up to date and ensures staff is following procedures efficiently.

  • Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and school breaks.
  • Must have proficient computer skills with knowledge of Excel and Word.
  • Must be proficient in cash handling.
