Summary: The Gulf Breeze Zoo is seeking a Administrative Assistant that will represent the zoo in a courteous, respectful and compassionate team enviroment. It is imperative that this individual adhere to the organization's code of ethics and maintains confidentiality at all times.

Trustworthiness and sensitivity are essential qualities for this position. This person must be exceedingly well-organized and enjoy the administrative challenges of supporting a fast-paced work environment. The ability to interact with staff (at all levels) in a complex working environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality is crucial to this role. Effective communication, both written and verbal, strong decision-making ability, and attention to detail are equally important.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY:

Efficient or basic knowledge of Quick Books

Assist with new hire paperwork and background checks on candidates and fax completed documents to the Corporate Office.

Assist in the management of employee files.

Prepare weekly and monthly expense reports for Corporate Accounting Office.

Coordinate vehicle registrations/license tags with Corporate Office.

Make bank runs for change.

Run errands as needed by the Director.

Inventory and order office supplies.

Scans various licenses/permits to Corporate Office and maintains in-house binders.

Handle and distribute the Directors mail. This includes opening and reading all mail items. Ensures that when meeting with the Director to review mail, it is presented in a streamlined and prioritized order.

Schedule internal meetings with applicable staff advising time, topic, and location.

Handle Director's schedule by arranging meetings and appointments; manages calender.

Arrange meetings and conferences, handles communications and travel arrangements, and process-related functions and documentation.

Maintains confidential information that may come through Director's office.

Coordinate Incident Reports and Worker's Compensation Claims with Corporate Office.

Perform related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION

Work is performed under the direction of the Zoo Director. Additional guidance is received through established policies and procedures, plus verbal and written communication.

      The Food and Beverage Manager is a customer-oriented position responsible for managing the overall F&B operations in order to achieve customer satisfaction, quality of food and beverage service, compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as federal, state, and local regulations while meeting/exceeding financial goals for the F&B Operations. The Gulf Breeze Zoo has one dine-in restaurant on-site and anticipates additional F&B satellites in the near future. The Guest Services Department includes admissions, food service, retail, rides, and grounds. This person will report directly to the Guest Services Manager and be responsible for (but not limited to) covering the Guest Services Manager’s days off and acting as the opening and/or closing manager as needed, overseeing guest services employees, and constructively enforcing all company policies, aiding with hiring and training of new staff members, cash handling and operating cash registers.

      Commissary / Farm Animal Care

      Description: The Zoo is rapidly growing and in search of a motivated individual to join our animal care team. The position will be responsible for managing the commissary and aiding in the care of the farm area. The zoo maintains a diverse collection of over 1000 animals including great apes, carnivores, primates, birds, reptiles, and a large petting animal area.

      The commissary provides animal diets for all the animals that call Gulf Breeze Zoo home. This position is responsible for maintaining the commissary and preparing all diets. This position will also aid in the care of the farm area which houses goats, sheep, and chickens. All applicants must be physically fit with the ability to lift 50 pounds comfortably and be able to work in all types of weather. Applicants must possess a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and excellent communication skills.       Part-time Educator

      Gulf Breeze Zoo is looking for enthusiastic individuals to guide Behind the Scenes Animal Tours. Gulf Breeze Zoo currently offers Nile Hippo, Giraffe, Albino Alligator, and Sloth tours daily. Galapagos tortoise encounters are offered seasonally. This individual would be responsible for giving tours alone as well as aiding animal keepers with tours. Candidates must be self-motivated, able to prepare, and safely give tours daily, ensuring the tour areas were "tour ready" and guests had amazing experiences.

      Weekend Availably preferable. Hours typically 9:30 – 3:30 pm
